Leaders are in a unique position to motivate employees to deliver excellent performance, engage employees for the organizations' mission and vision, and ensure alignment with societal interests.Meanwhile, leaders may also be a primary source of conflict and demotivation. Some of their behavior may incur major organizational and societal costs. Therefore, it is important to understand how leadership can bring out the best in people, as well as how leadership may go wrong.
