Learning via case-based methodology is an integral part of the MBA program. A good caseanalysis (qualitative or quantitative) necessitates the effective application of tools andframeworks to solve complex business problems. The ‘Business Case Analytics Workshop’ willtrain the participants in conducting a thorough case study analysis and in effectivelycommunicating case solutions and recommendations.

During the two-day workshop, the participants will be required to extensively work in their
respective groups to detail their analysis. The workload can be characterized as below:

Lectures: 25%

Groupwork & Case Analysis: 50%

Presentations/Case Report & Feedback: 25%

Date Time
Thursday, 13.04.2023 13:15 - 16:30
Friday, 14.04.2023 09:00 - 16:30
The objective of this workshop is to help the participants in logically structuring presentations
and compiling case reports. Case study analysis requires organizing existing and new
information into relevant frameworks to perform a sound analysis. Although the process may
seem straight-forward, under high-pressure the analysis can stall and consequently fail to
capture the relevant discussion in its entirety. In this workshop, we will navigate the process
of structuring arguments and effectively communicating them (in a presentation and in a case
report document).
We will use the concepts from the book “The Pyramid Principle” by Barbara Minto to guide usthrough the process of logical thinking, conducting a sound analysis and structuringarguments. The workshop will also use a business article as well as a Harvard case study totrain the participants in structuring presentations and compiling case reports.
The case studies from the workshop will help illustrate real world business complexities. To
solve the case questions, the participants will apply the techniques and frameworks
introduced in the lecture for a structured analysis. Groupworks are a key learning mechanism
in this workshop. Therefore, participants will work in their respective groups to examine the
overall situation and conduct a thorough analysis. Based on the group discussions, the
participants will present their solutions to the case in the form of a PowerPoint presentation
and a case report. A detailed feedback will be provided to them to help improve their analysis
for future case work.
